Google Maps: How to measure an area
To measure an area in Google Maps, you must be logged in with your Google account. The calculation then works with any surface
- To do this, enter the desired address in Google in the search field and click on "Maps" in the results page.
- In the map view you will find the menu on the left under the three small crossbars. Go to "My Places" here.
- In the following view click on the tab "Maps" and there at the bottom on "Create map".
- Enter the address in the search field and select the linear symbol below for measuring distances and areas.
- With the now visible cursor, draw in the area you want to measure. If the end points are connected, the area size in hectares is displayed in the middle.
