Google Maps: Read the cardinal direction - how it works
Mobile navigation is particularly easy with Google Maps, especially since you can also read the direction. We have summarized exactly how this works for you in our practical tip.
Read the cardinal direction on Google Maps - so it'll work
- With Google Maps you can see a circle with an arrow on the map in the upper right corner of the screen, this has two tips. The red tip always points north, the other tip always south.
- So that you can now read the cardinal direction, note the blue funnel on the position indicator of your current location. The funnel shows you which direction you are headed.
- Now compare the direction of the funnel with the position of the arrow in the top corner. If the funnel points to the right and the red arrow points up, go east. If the funnel aligns to the left and the red arrow points up, go west. If the funnel matches the red arrow, go north. If the funnel and the white tip match, go south.
