Google Maps: turn the map - this is how it works on all devices
Maps on Google Maps can be rotated and tilted both on the computer and on the smartphone. Among other things, this also makes it possible to use the useful 3D feature from Google Earth in the route planner.
Google Maps: turn and tilt the map on the PC
Up to now, the function for rotating and tilting the map has been limited to satellite view on the computer.
- Open Google Maps in your browser.
- Open the menu on the left and switch the mode to "Satellite".
- By pressing [Shift] + [left mouse button] at the same time, you can tilt and rotate the view as you wish.
Rotate map on Google Maps on Android and iOS
On the smartphone, however, you can also rotate and tilt the map in normal view.
- To simply rotate the card 90 degrees, flip your smartphone on its side. On Android, the automatic rotation of the screen must be activated.
- If you touch the display with two fingers at the same time and move them up or down, the view of the map can be tilted.
- As soon as you turn the two fingers, the card also turns.
