Google Maps: Embed the map in your own website
In this practical tip, we will show you how to integrate Google Maps maps into your own website. This way you can easily provide your users with directions.
Integrate Google Maps section with a few clicks on your own website
To integrate the Google maps into your website, proceed as follows:
- Open //maps.google.de/.
- Enter the desired location in the search field. Alternatively, you can also navigate to the location you are looking for. The correct map section is still displayed. However, visitors to your website will not be able to see exactly where the excerpt relates. If you go through the search, a red symbol appears on the map at the address.
- Zoom in as close to the point as you want. You can also move the selection area. If you entered your address using the search, the destination is already centered in the area anyway.
- Then click on the link symbol on the left. A small window opens.
- If you are satisfied with the 425x350 pixel size of the Google Maps section, you can simply copy the HTML code in the line "HTML code for embedding in a website" and paste it in the desired position in your HTML file.
- If you want to change the size of the section, click on "Adjust embedded map and show preview". In the new window you can adjust the map size. You can also see a preview of the map here as it will later appear on your website. Below the preview you will find the HTML code that you have to copy and paste into your HTML file.
If you also want to include YouTube videos on your website, this practical tip will help you.
