Google Maps: Play Mario Kart - how it works
On Google Maps you can play Mario Kart on March 10, 2018 and heat as a plumber through the streets. Google still makes a big secret about the Easter Egg, but the first users are already reporting a little Mario Kart in their Google Maps app.
Play Mario Kart in Google Maps
- March 10 is considered Mario Day. Because in English the abbreviation for the month of March (Mar) together with the number 10 forms the word "Mar10". Google takes March 10th this year as an opportunity to give us a great Easter Egg.
- In a tweet, Google Maps shows a street in Los Angeles on which banana peels lie - just like in Mario Kart. Google does not reveal what the picture is about. But numerous fan blogs speculate that we can play Mario Kart on Google Maps on March 10th. And that's true, as Nintendo confirms in the video on its Twitter timeline.
- As with the classic Mario game, a yellow arrow pops up, then the message appears: "Navigate your world as Mario".
- Then you do not navigate with an arrow as usual, but with a Mario figure through the streets of your city. The bananas in the Google tweet indicate that other elements from the game have been implemented in Google Maps.
