You cannot draw a radius with Google Maps on board. Rather, you need a little extra tool. We clarify where you can find it and how you can use it to draw a radius on the maps of Google Maps.
Draw radius in Google Map - so it'll work
- Open the free "FreeMapTools" website in your browser.
- In the search box on the map, enter the location around which you want to draw a radius.
- Below the map you will find input fields for the radius. You can specify it in kilometers, meters, miles, or feet.
- If you click with the mouse on the desired center of the circle, the radius will be drawn.
- In the options below you can also make various settings such as the fill color.
- The URL for the map you just created is also given so that you can insert it into your website.
Apps for a Google Maps radius
On your smartphone, you can use apps to display a radius in Google Maps.
- Radius on map: With "Radius on map" you download an app for free to your iPhone. If you enter a specific location, you can have a radius drawn in any size.
- You can determine the color of the border as well as the fill color yourself. You can also save the radius and call it up again at any time, and you can send the URL of the location together with the marked radius.
- Map Radius: The Android app "Map Radius" is also free. You can either have your current location determined or enter a desired location yourself.
- It is very easy to have a radius drawn: an input field is shown on the map. Enter the desired size of the radius here.
