Step 1: Export route to Google Maps
- First, log in to Google with your account. Otherwise, you will need to create a free Google account beforehand.
- Then open the Google My Maps website and click on the "Create new map" button above.
- Here you can insert start, finish, stopovers and other waypoints.
- Then click on the button with the three dots at the top and select the "Export to KML" option.
- Via the "Download" button, the route from Google Maps is saved on your computer.
Step 2: convert route from Google Maps
- The downloaded route is in KML format. However, many devices cannot do anything with it.
- On the GPSies website, you can convert the route from Google Maps into the more common GPX format. To do this, you need to create a free account beforehand.
- You can then transfer the route to a navigation device, for example. Make sure that the route ends up in the correct folder.
