Google Music: Songs do not appear on the Android device
If your Google Music songs don't appear on your Android device, don't worry. With these tips you will definitely get your cloud music back.
Update Google Music: How to get your songs on your smartphone
First, make sure you have the latest version of Google Music installed on your Android device. Older versions are often plagued by bugs that can lead to such errors.
- Start the Play Store on your smartphone. Now press the menu key and select the entry [My Apps].
- A list of your installed apps will appear. Any updates that are available are displayed in the first place. If a new version of Google Music is available, you only have to click on the [Update] button. Then confirm the pop-up for the app permissions with [Next].
- Now your smartphone updates the Google app. If no songs still appear after the installation, the error is somewhere else.
Incorrect settings: Show cloud songs in Google Music
In many cases, the error lies in the Google app itself: Here you can set whether you only want to see your locally saved songs or whether you want your entire music collection to appear. However, you can quickly switch between the two modes.
- Open the Google Music app on your smartphone or tablet. Now click on the [My Music] area in the task bar of the app.
- Select the entry [All songs] here. Now press the menu key and click on [Refresh].
- Google Music should now display all songs from the cloud and download the covers. Depending on the size of your music library, this process can take some time.
Correct profile: Sign in with the correct Google account
Of course, only the music that you have actually added to your Google account is available. You should therefore check whether the correct account is entered.
- To do this, tap the menu button in Google Music and select the entry [Settings]. There, click on [Google account].
- Make sure that the profile shown matches that in the Music Manager. To do this, start the Google program on your computer and switch to the [Advanced] tab. At the bottom you will find the information about your Google account.
- If another account appears here, you have to log in again on your smartphone. This works via the entry [Add account]. Enter your login information there. Then tap in the main menu on the menu button and the entry [Refresh].
Malefactor Google account: switch on automatic synchronization
If none of the previous tips worked for you, the problem is with syncing. For the Google service, you should choose automatic synchronization.
- To do this, open the Settings app on your smartphone or tablet. Scroll down to the [Accounts] section and select the [Google] entry.
- There you tap on your account. Make sure that [Sync Google Play Music] is checked. Save the settings by clicking on [Synchronize now].
- Now start Google Music and tap on the entry [Update]. Your songs should now appear.
In some cases, Google Music won't show covers after syncing. In this practical tip, we explain how you can also solve this problem.
