Google Now voice commands: write SMS and email
Voice commands make it easy to write text messages or emails in Google Now. You can find out exactly how this works in this practical tip.
Send SMS and emails directly from Google Now
- First, open Google Now by long pressing the menu button on your smartphone. Please note that Google Now is only available from Android version 4.1.
- In order to send a message from Google Now to a contact, the phone number or email address must be stored with them.
- To send an email, tap the microphone and say "Send email to Max Mustermann" - adding the real name of the recipient, of course - and then speak the content of the message immediately. You don't need to leave a pause between the command and the message.
- Sending an SMS basically works in the same way, using the command "Send SMS to Max Mustermann" and then speaking your message.
