Google's payment service "Google Pay" has also been available in Germany since June 2018. We will show you whether you can also use the service on the iPhone.
Google Pay: Not on your iPhone yet
If you want to use a modern online payment service as an iPhone user, you are still bound to "Apple Pay", at least in Germany. We will explain to you why.
- Google Pay has been working in Germany since June 2018.
- So far, however, only on Android devices; but don't panic - a release for iPhone users is already planned. However, the exact time has not yet been determined.
- Experts suspect that Google Pay is not yet available on iOS devices, so that the Google app cannot compete with Apple's own service, the "Apple Pay" app.
- Since Apple Pay has been available across Germany since December 2018, an activation date will not be long in coming.
