Google Pay: Set up a PayPal account - Here's how
With Google Pay you can now pay with PayPal after you have set up PayPal once. Contactless payment is no longer restricted to a few banks. Here we show how to link Google Pay and Paypayl.
Use Google Pay with PayPal - how it works
Paying with the Android smartphone on the go is easier than ever with Google Pay - and is now available to significantly more customers thanks to the cooperation with PayPal. While Google Pay was previously reserved for customers of some selected banks, practically every user with a PayPal account can now also pay with a smartphone. This works in all shops where contactless payment with Mastercard is accepted. Before making your purchase, save your PayPal account once in the Google Pay app:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Pay app installed. Then open "Google Pay" on your smartphone.
- Go to the "Payment" section and tap "+ payment method". Then select "PayPal".
- Now the PayPal website opens on your smartphone. Log in with your username and password.
- Your PayPal account will now be linked to Google Pay. You still have to agree to the payment source displayed.
How you ultimately pay with PayPal depends on your own preferences. You can change the payment method at any time and choose between credit cards, direct debit, bank transfers or top-ups.
