Google Pixel 2: You need this SIM card
Before you can surf and make calls with your Google Pixel 2 (Pro), you must insert a SIM card. However, not every SIM fits into the new Google smartphone. You can find out which format the Pixel 2 requires here.
SIM card for Google Pixel 2: space for the eSIM
With the Google Pixel 2 (Pro) you will find the SIM card slot on the left side of the smartphone. The special thing: There are two different types of SIM cards. This is the classic Nano SIM on the one hand, and the new eSIM on the other. The latter is built into the smartphone and cannot be changed.
- So if your mobile service provider has already installed an eSIM in your Pixel 2, you don't have to worry about a thing.
- However, the eSIM has so far hardly been available in Germany, so you will continue to rely on the classic Nano SIM for the time being. You can get them in different ways.
Get Nano SIM for Google Pixel 2
The Nano SIM is the smallest SIM card format. Here the SIM card consists almost entirely of the golden chip.
- If you have a larger SIM card, you may find breaks where you can reduce the size of the card. You can easily convert your standard SIM into nano format.
- Alternatively, you can cut your SIM card yourself. So that nothing goes wrong, you will find a free Nano SIM template for you to download.
- Finally, you can request the Nano SIM from your mobile operator. We explain in more detail how this works with Congstar, O2 and ALDI Talk in further articles. However, please note that some providers charge up to 10 euros for the SIM change.
