Google Play services consume too much battery - that helps
The Google Play services or "Google Play Services" use a relatively large amount of battery on every Android smartphone. We show you how to reduce consumption.
Google Play services consume a lot of battery - why?
Among other things, the Google Play services are required for apps such as Google Play Games, Google Play Music and Google Plus.
- The service is deeply integrated into the system, so deactivation is hardly possible and would make your smartphone unstable.
- Usually, the Google Play service consume between 5 and 20 percent of the battery depending on usage. Even if you do not actively use the Google service, the process runs in the background.
- Since the service also communicates with other apps, a newly installed app can result in very high utilization. If necessary, check all newly installed applications.
Google Play Services: Reduce battery consumption
- Open the "Settings" app on your smartphone and select the "Apps" category here.
- Under the category "All" you will now find the "Google Play Services".
- Tap here on the button "Clear cache" and "Clear data".
- Your smartphone will then restart. In some cases, this process can take a little longer than usual.
- Note: The second option may be behind the "Manage storage space" button.
Google Play services: use less battery
If the problem has still not been solved, here are a few more approaches:
- Software update: Open the "Settings" app, swipe to the bottom and select the "Software update" under "Info". Install available updates.
- App update: You should also update your apps and Google Play services in the Play Store. Open the Google Play Store and check for updates under "My Apps".
- Cleaner: Services that are not currently being used can be switched off using a special application. For example, use the Clean Master or the anti-virus app 360 Security.
