With Google Play Music you can save your own music in the cloud. The data can also be deleted again. You can remove individual songs as well as your entire library.
Google Play Music: delete individual music files
If you upload your music to Google Play, Google compares the files with its own database. If the song is recognized, you can access the Google version, otherwise your audio file will be uploaded. No matter how the process went, you can remove both pieces of music in the same way:
- To do this, open Play Music in your browser on the PC and log in.
- Find the desired song or album there and right-click on it.
- In the context menu you decide on the entry "Delete".
- Finally, confirm the warning with "Delete title".
Google Play Music: Delete entire music collection
If you want to remove your entire music library on Google Play Music, you can delete your Google account. The problem: After that, you no longer have access to other Google services. So it's best to delete your music directly from Google Music.
- To do this, log in to the streaming service again with your Google data.
- At the top left click on the menu button with the three horizontal bars and scroll down a bit.
- Then select the "Settings" entry.
- In the "Delete my music" section, click the "Delete" button.
- Then use the checkboxes to determine whether you only want to delete your uploaded or your purchased music.
- Then complete the process with "Delete all content in 'My Music'". It may take a few hours for the data to be completely removed.
