Google Play Store: Report the app as inappropriate
As a user of an Android device, you have access to the Google Play Store and can report apps as inappropriate there.
Report inappropriate apps in the Google Play Store
The Google Play Store now holds over 1.3 million applications (as of July 2014). And even though every single application is checked for the guidelines prevailing in the Google Play Store, there can also be a black sheep with this large number of apps. You can now mark apps that violate the guidelines of the Google Play Store or personally class them as inappropriate:
- To report an app as inappropriate, open the "Play Store" application on your smartphone and go to the details page of the application to be reported.
- Now scroll all the way down on the details page. Under "Google Play content" you will find the message "Report as inappropriate".
- If you select the "Report as inappropriate" option, you will be taken to an overview with a variety of reasons for which you must choose a reason.
- Finally, confirm your details by tapping the "Send" button with your finger.
- It may take a few days for the reported app to be removed, if necessary. For this reason, Google advises you to first notify the provider of the contact option on the detail page.
