Google Play Store: High data consumption - that can be the reason
Download all apps for your smartphone from the Google Play Store. If you have high data consumption, you should act quickly. In this practical tip, we will tell you what this can be and what you can do about it.
High data consumption in the Google Play Store - what to do?
- The high data consumption can result from an automatic download and update of the apps. We therefore recommend that you only download or update the apps if you have a WiFi connection.
- Open the "Settings" in the Play Store by swiping from left to right and select the "No automatic app updates" option under "Automatic app updates".
- Also remove the checkmark next to "Apps updated automatically".
- You can also turn off background data for the Google Play Store, but you'll then have to manually check for available app updates.
- To do this, go to "Settings"> "Data usage"> "Network apps"> "System apps". Then click "Advanced" below and search for "Google Play Store".
- Remove the checkmark at "Background data" so that the Play Store will no longer download data from the background in the future.
- Take a step back and search for the "Google Play Store" again to remove the checkmark next to "Mobile data". This prevents mobile data from being used up.
In the next practical tip, we will tell you what you can do if the Google Play Store is stopped.
