Google Play Store: Prevent unwanted purchases with a password
You can password-protect downloads of paid content from the Google Play Store. We'll show you how to activate the security feature.
Protect Google Play Store with a password
As soon as you switch on password protection, you must enter your Google password each time you download an app or a song. This will prevent unauthorized persons from making unwanted purchases using your smartphone or tablet.
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Press the menu button and go to "Settings".
- Under "User control" you will find the "Password" item. Tap on it to set the corresponding check mark.
- The password is the same as that of your Google account. Enter this in the following security question and confirm with "OK".
- You must then enter your password in the Play Store before each download.
If you ever forget the password for your Google account, we will help you in this practical tip.
