Change Google search to German - how it works
If you have accidentally changed the language of Google search, you can change it to "German" in the search settings. So you can use the search engine again as usual.
Google: Change the search engine language to German
As a rule, Google recognizes your location based on your IP address and your browser settings in order to then forward you to the German Google site. However, some programs can prevent Google from accessing your IP and settings. In such cases, another standard language is set:
- To switch Google search back to German, you must first go to the official Google homepage.
- Then click on the "Settings" link at the bottom right and select the top option "Search Settings" in the window that appears.
- Google will automatically redirect you to the search settings. Click on the second tab "Languages" in the top left corner.
- Then Google shows you an overview of all available languages. Select "Germany" here and confirm your selection by clicking on the blue "Save" button.
- In a final step, a message appears that your language has been changed successfully. Click "OK" one last time to finalize the change.
Finally, change your Google account.
