Download and read the Google search log
To find out what Google knows about you, you can download the History search history from Google. With the help of the Google search log you will not find out everything that Google has saved about you, but at least you will get an overview of your saved search queries.
Download the Google search history
It is relatively easy to get the history search protocol. However, you have to meet two requirements: First, you must have an account with Google, and second, you must also be logged in to this account when you carry out your search queries.
- To view your search history, first go to Google History and log into your account.
- You will then see your activities, neatly listed by date and time, in front of you. You can also call up the corresponding URLs for the respective search queries in Google if necessary. In addition, your search activities are clearly shown in diagrams.
- To download the Google Search History log, click on the gear you see on the far right.
- Then select the "Download" option from the pull-down menu. You will then receive a security notice from Google and can create an archive. Your search logs are then saved in this archive.
- So that you can also download your search logs from your history archive, Google will send you a download link to your email address.
Reading the JSON format in the browser
To read the log, you still need a specific addon:
- For Firefox, for example, this would be the addon [[//addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/jsonview/|JSON View].
- And for Google Chrome you also get a corresponding add-on called JSON View.
