GoPro video jerky - what to do?
If a video that you recorded with a GoPro jerky, it may be due to your computer, which cannot process the large HD video files quickly enough. We'll show them how to tell where the error is and how to fix it.
Is the GoPro video broken?
First, you should check that the video was recorded correctly:
- To do this, connect your GoPro to a TV with the supplied AV component cable and play the video there.
- If it jerky, the video was recorded incorrectly. In this case, try another SD card that supports a higher write speed.

There are several ways to fix playback problems on a computer:
- Copy the video from the SD card to your computer's hard drive before playing it.
- Use the VLC Media Player to play the videos. In contrast to most pre-installed media players, this freeware tool uses very few resources. In addition, video files of the GoPro Hero 3 are also reproduced here, some of which cannot be played or can only be played incorrectly by Windows Media Player.
- Check that your computer meets the minimum system requirements to play GoPro HD videos. GoPro recommends a computer with at least 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB RAM for videos with low resolution (1080p, 30 fps and lower). For videos with high resolution (1080p, 60 fps and higher), at least 3.0 - 3.7 GHz Ivy Bridge processors, 4 GB RAM and a graphics card that is comparable to an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M are recommended.
