Calibrate GPS - how it works
If you calibrate the GPS from Google Maps, the display will be more accurate. We show you how this works in this practical tip.
Calibrate GPS - you should be aware of this beforehand
- Stand on a vacant position for calibration.
- Google Maps or a compass app of your choice should be open.
- You have to move the device for calibration. But don't do it too hastily.
- For a Samsung device, select "+ # 0 + #" in the phone menu. A menu window now opens. Select "Sensor" here to easily calibrate the compass.
Calibrate GPS - how it works
If the blue dot beam in Google Maps no longer points in the right direction or is too wide, you will need to recalibrate the GPS.
- Open the Google Maps app or any other compass app.
- Guide an eight through the air several times with your smartphone or tablet. This is how the GPS is calibrated.
- The compass beam should now point in the right direction and be narrower.
