Find GPS coordinates with Google Maps
You can easily determine the GPS coordinates, i.e. the longitude and latitude line of a position, using Google Maps. We'll show you exactly how this works here.
How to find the GPS coordinates with Google Maps
- Open Google Maps and enter a location in the search field - in our example "CHIP Online Munich".
- Then select the correct location from the list of results.
- Right-click on the map to open a context menu. Among other things, this contains the point "What is here?".
- If you click on this, the longitude and latitude line is already displayed in the Google search bar.
- With the help of these GPS coordinates, you can find the location again and again - for example when geocaching with an iPhone or smartphone.
