Open GPX files - how it works
The easiest way to open GPX files in Google Earth:
- Open Google Earth and go to "File -> Open".
- In the dropdown menu of the dialog window, select the file format GPX (* .gpx, * .loc, * .mps) and select the file that you want to open.
- In the following window "GPS data import" activate the options "Lines for tracks", "Draw routes" and "Adjust heights to ground level" and confirm the selection with "OK".
Edit GPX files - it works with these programs
In Google Earth, you not only import the data from the GPX file, you can also edit the waypoint placemarks and track paths.
- To do this, right-click on the element under "Places" and select "Properties" on the PC or "Get info" on the Mac.
- Displayed purely as text, you can also open and edit a GPX file in any simple text editor such as the Windows editor or Notepad ++.
