Postcard size: standard dimensions and maximum size
The size of a postcard is regulated in international mail. We show you how big a postcard is by default and how big it can be.
Postcard: standard size and maximum dimensions
- By default, a postcard is in DIN A6 format and is 10.5 x 14.8 cm in size.
- The formats DIN A5 (14.8 × 21.0 cm) and DIN long (11.0 × 22.0 cm) are also common postcard sizes.
- The maximum dimensions for a postcard are 12.5 x 23.5 cm. The minimum dimensions are 9 x 14 cm.
- Furthermore, a postcard must be at least 1.4 times longer than it is wide.
- The paper thickness is also regulated: the paper must weigh at least 150 grams per square meter. The upper limit is 500 grams per square meter.
