WhatsApp: That means the green tick
WhatsApp is constantly updated and expanded. An innovation brings a green tick:
- WhatsApp wants to establish itself as a tool for business contact. For example, customer services and ordering platforms should use WhatsApp.
- A company can set up business accounts for this.
- If an account has been verified by WhatsApp, the company receives a green tick to indicate that the identity of the company has been verified by WhatsApp.
- This measure is intended to create the trust that is necessary to conduct business via WhatsApp.
- Strictly speaking, this is actually a white check mark on a green background

In addition, other green symbols appear in WhatsApp:
- In the chat function, two green ticks indicate that the addressee has retrieved the sent message. Two blue ticks indicate that the user has usually read the message.
- In WhatsApp calls, an arrow down symbolizes an incoming call, an arrow up symbolizes an outgoing call. If the arrow is highlighted in red, the call was not accepted. If it is highlighted in green, a connection has been established.
