Install Greasemonkey scripts: how it works
If you don't want to write your own Greasemonkey scripts, you will find numerous ready-made scripts online - for example in our top 20 Greasemonkey scripts. As soon as you call up a script in the browser, the installation dialog opens automatically:
- Press the Install button (Firefox, Chrome) or the OK button (Opera). The script is then immediately ready for use, but you must update the corresponding website before it becomes active.
Alternative: Install Greasemonkey scripts manually
If you have saved a Greasemonkey script with the extension user.js on your hard disk, you can also easily install it by dragging the file into the browser window and then completing the installation as described above.
- Unfortunately, this is not possible in Chrome for security reasons.
