A grill without smoke is not only healthier - avoid smoke when barbecuing on the balcony or in the garden, your neighbors will also be happy. We have three tips for you on how to grill with as little smoke or even smoke-free as possible.
Grilling without smoke - it works
When grilling, smoke primarily arises from meat juice or fat when it drips onto the charcoal.
- Grill bowl : If you use a grill bowl, this problem does not arise. You not only avoid trouble with your neighbors, you also do something for your health.
- The smoke contains so-called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). These harmful substances are also transferred to the food to be grilled.
- Electric grill: It doesn't always have to be a coal or gas grill. For the balcony, grilling with an electric grill is the best solution.
- These grills are extremely practical. For one thing, they are smoke-free. On the other hand, you can easily operate these grills in the home if the weather changes and barbecuing on the balcony is not possible.
- Coconut briquettes: If you don't want to do without your beloved charcoal grill, the charcoal used plays a major role in the development of smoke. If you grill with coconut briquettes, very low-smoke grilling is also possible with a charcoal grill. The fuel from coconut shells has other advantages.
- Coconut briquettes reach very high temperatures and also burn longer than charcoal. Since the coconut shells are a waste product that can be put to good use in this way, you make a contribution to protecting the environment.
