Cleaning the grillage - it works with these tips
- Take an old newspaper, dampen it and wrap the wet paper around your grate. Leave it there overnight.
- If you don't have a newspaper on hand, just put the grate in wet grass.
- The next day, unwind the wet paper and rinse off all incrustations with a sponge, warm water and detergent.

Remove stubborn dirt from the rust
- Take a damp cloth, dip it in the grill ash (let it cool down first!) And rub it over the grate. As an alternative, you can also use coffee grounds or an old bread roll.
- Take the grill rack into your apartment and soak it in a water bath with a splash of lemon juice and detergent for several hours. Then wash the dirt off the grate with a cloth.
- Mix 100 grams of baking soda with the same amount of water and rub the grid with it. Let it dry and rinse it off afterwards.
Prevent dirt on the grillage
- Apart from aluminum foil, which of course prevents dirt on the grate, there is also a more environmentally friendly trick: rub the grate with cooking oil beforehand. This also makes the meat easier to turn.
