Groufie - what is it?
After the selfie, shelfie and belfie, the groufie is coming. We'll show you what it is and how you can best make a Groufie yourself with your smartphone.
Groufie - anything but goth
A groufie broke all records in March: Ellen DeGeneres' group selfie from the 2014 Academy Awards is the photo that has been most retweeted at all. Only it wasn't called Groufie - and if it goes to Huawei - it shouldn't be called that because it was taken with a Samsung smartphone.
- The term "Groufie" is made up of "Group" and "Selfie".
- Groufie means a group selfie in which several people crowd in front of the smartphone lens.
- Hardly invented, the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, China's Huawei, is already trying to patent the term and is equipping its new cell phones, such as the future flagship Ascend P 7, with better front cameras for this purpose.
- In addition to a previously unrivaled 8 megapixel front camera, the P 7 also has a new front camera panorama mode especially for Groufies.
Since the best tips for selfies naturally also apply to groufies, you can read them in the next CHIP practical tip. Find out here that "Shelfies" is by no means a typo.
