Group photos: This is how the best pictures are taken
We have summarized the following tips and tricks for you so that the group photos are also good and everyone is recognizable on the picture.
- Lighting: Make sure that the room is well lit. In dark rooms, the flash of the camera can quickly lead to over-lighting.
- Move closer together: In order to be noticed as a group in the photo, you have to move closer together. If there are birthday children or newlyweds in the group, it is advisable to emphasize the people. This is possible, for example, through party hats or other disguises.
- Creativity: Let your creativity run free with the group photo. For example, the participants do not all have to stand, but can crouch, lie on their stomach or jump in the air.
- Blink-free: Since blinking is completely normal, as a photographer you should take several pictures. Divide the number of people by three. For example, if there are nine people, take three photos in a row so that there is at least one photo where all eyes are open.
- Communication: The photographer should always keep in touch with the people and give clear instructions. However, these instructions should not be commands. In between, small loosenings can be helpful.
- Time: The following applies to events: Group photos as early as possible! Here everyone is in a good mood and open to group photos. Do not take the photo at noon, but rather in the afternoon. At noon the sun is often dazzling and casting unnecessary shadows. In some cases it can be helpful to wait until clouds have moved in front of the sun. Even in the evening, when the sun goes down, special settings must be taken when taking pictures of sunsets.
- Location: Of course, the location of the photo also plays a decisive role. However, make sure that the environment fits the people. If you want many people in one picture, you can distribute them well on a slope or on a staircase, for example.
- Perspectives: In many cases, completely new images arise from other perspectives. Therefore, take several photos of the group from different perspectives.
