GTA Online: Saving failed - you can do that
If you get a message in GTA Online that the save has failed, you can solve the problem in many cases with little effort. You can find out how to do this in this practical tip.
Saving failed: GTA Online no longer works
The message usually reads "Saving failed - connection to the Rockstar game service not possible." The problem can be with you as well as with Rockstar itself:
- If there is a server problem with GTA Online, there is not much you can do about it. You can check for yourself whether there is a far-reaching error. Read on in this practical tip.
- If the problem is not with Rockstar, unplug your router for a few seconds. Restarting your console or computer can also help.
GTA Online: Resolve "Save failed"
If the problem is not with the GTA Online servers or with your hardware or Internet connection, there is another option: Adjusting the MTU value has helped many users.
- You can open the MTU value in the network settings of your console. Suitable instructions for opening the network settings can be found here for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
- Simply search for the "MTU" option there. Change the value to 1450 and try to start GTA Online again. If saving still fails, use the MTU value 1473.
