- Less than three years after the release of Guild Wars 2, the game is available to everyone for free. You save around 40 euros.
- Of course, the whole thing is not without reason. The sequel "Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns" will be released on October 23. In another practical tip, you will receive all information about the release and system requirements from the addon.
- If you like Guild Wars 2, you can continue playing it for free for several years. Most of the active players are expected to expand in September.

- Open the following Guild Wars 2 website and register here. Your email address, password and user name are required.
- You will receive an e-mail for confirmation via the "Register" button. Your free account will then be activated.
- You will find the installation files for Windows and Mac OS on the following download website. This allows Guild Wars 2 to be installed directly.
- The download currently comprises (as of August 2015) approximately 20 gigabytes. Since the game is now freely available, the bandwidth for downloads is likely to be throttled. If you want to use the game, you should download it in advance.
Free Guild Wars 2: You have to accept these restrictions
All previous Guild Wars 2 players will receive the Royal Guard clothing set for their three year anniversary. However, there are some restrictions for the new players:
- As a free user, you have fewer character and pocket slots. Only when you upgrade to the upcoming expansion will you be equated with the paying players.
- There are also restrictions when interacting with other players. To protect against spam, a new conversation can only be started every 30 seconds, card chat is not possible. In addition, free players cannot exchange items directly with other players.
- So that new players do not run inexperienced through the world and thus attract negative attention from the paying players, certain areas can only be entered from a certain level. For example, you can only leave the starting area from level 10.
