Caring for and cleaning rubber boots: it's that easy
The same applies to rubber boots: regular maintenance and cleaning increases the service life. In addition, you get the shine of the boots. We will show you how you can best clean and care for your rubber boots.
The ideal cleaning for the care of your rubber boots
In the following points you will learn how to keep your rubber boots clean with the simplest home remedies. You do not need any chemical agents for regular cleaning.
- It is best to rinse off dirt such as mud, sand or earth immediately with lukewarm water. This will prevent dirt from getting stuck.
- The dirt is usually particularly stubborn on the sole, use clear water and a rough nail brush, for example.
- If the dirt is already stuck, you can also use a mild soapy water and a sponge. So stubborn dirt should be easy to remove.
- Countless bacteria quickly accumulate inside the boots as well, not only are they unsanitary, they can also smell unpleasant. So occasionally wash the inside of your rubber boots with soapy water. We also recommend using a suitable spray for disinfecting shoes.
- To prevent the material from becoming brittle, be sure to let your rubber boots dry in the fresh air.
Care: This is how rubber boots keep their shine
Wellies, especially with frequent use, quickly become brittle or have a dull surface. We'll show you how to regain your shine with occasional care.
- Brittle: Dilute some glycerin with water and rub it in with a sponge. Now let it sit for about 20 minutes. Caution: Test this method first on an inconspicuous area, not every material can tolerate glycerin!
- Stupf: If your boots lose their shine, you can easily rub them with a little silicone oil. After about 15 minutes, the oil is absorbed and your boots look like new again.
