Create voucher with Microsoft Word

In Microsoft Word, vouchers can either be created using templates or freehand with a little more effort. So you can conjure up a lovingly designed birthday present with a bit of creativity - regardless of whether it is a voucher for washing your car three times or for a romantic candlelight dinner. That's how it works.
Create a voucher in Word using a template
If you want your vouchers to look original, but also be ready in no time, you can download successful templates for a variety of occasions here. These can then be further processed as required.
- After you have downloaded the template, you have to unzip it before you can open it with Microsoft Word.
- If you want to change the format of the voucher template, you can do this using the "Page layout" button in the menu bar. Here you press "Size" and you can now choose "A5", for example.
- Font styles, font colors and of course the font size and alignment of the text can also be changed. For this function, simply double-click on your text and you will find the "Font" and "Paragraph" dialog boxes under "Start" in the menu bar, in which you can set all of this as you wish.
Create a voucher in Microsoft Word freehand
The recipient will also be delighted with a self-created voucher. In Microsoft Word, beautiful coupons can be created quickly - regardless of the occasion. Here you can let your creativity run free.
- After opening a blank Word document, set the format of the voucher. Click on "Page layout" in the menu bar and then on the "Size" button. A wide variety of formats are offered here.
- Of course, a respectable voucher also includes a neat and functional framework. To do this, click on "Page layout" in the menu bar and then click on the "Page margins" button. Now a new window "Frame and shading" opens, in which you press the button "margin" (see screenshot). Under "Effects" you will find many different frames that you can set for your document using the four buttons in the preview on the right. If you are satisfied with your frame, confirm everything with "OK".
- Now it's time to edit the text. If you want something special, it makes the most sense to download the 50 best free fonts beforehand, for example. However, many of the fonts already provided by Word are noble and not everyday. Under "Start" in the menu bar you will find all fonts that you can then vary in size and color.
- Another alternative is "WordArt", which you can find under the "Paste" button. If you click on it, a text field opens in your document, in which you enter your text and then select the appropriate "WordArt" lettering. You can freely determine its contour and filling and turn and turn it as you like.
- You can also insert pictures into your Word voucher - preferably via the clip arts, which you can also find under "Insert". Enter the desired term in the search field - eg "heart", do not forget to check the box "Include Office.com content", this increases the chance of a hit.
Fine-tuning for self-made Word vouchers
If your voucher is still too unspectacular for you, you can add structure or color to the background of the text and thus make the white page disappear. It works like this:
- Go to the "Insert" button in the menu bar and then to "Shapes".
- To provide the page with a background entirely, select the rectangle shape. Now start in the upper corner of the document and drag your rectangle with the left mouse button clicked over the entire page to the lower right corner. Now release the button. The rectangle now sits with a gray sheen over your document and a new "Format" field opens in the menu bar.
- Now search for "fill effect" in the toolbar. Here you can mix your own background colors, choose color gradients or define a linen, paper bag or water drop background under "Structure". If you click on one of these, this texture initially overlays your entire document - so don't be alarmed.
- To make your pictures and text visible again, right-click anywhere in your rectangle. A window opens in which you go to "In the background" and then click on "Put behind the text". Your voucher is now ready to be printed out and given away.
