Unzip .gz files - so it'll work
Files with the extension ".gz" are packed files - similar to .zip or .rar. Read which software can be used to unpack such files.
How to unzip a GZ file
The extension "GZ" stands for "GNU zip", a license-free compression tool.
- Download the free (un) packing program "7-Zip" and follow the installation instructions.
- Then open 7-Zip and load the GZ file into the software. Then press the "Unpack" button.
- Now you only have to enter a destination path and start unpacking.
