The Winamp player has numerous functions. Among other things, you can also listen to the radio through him. We'll show you how it's done.
Listen to the radio on Winamp
The media player Winamp offers around 30, 000 radio stations free of charge via the "SHOUTcast Radio" function:
- Open Winamp and click on "Online services" under the "Media library" tab on the left.
- If the entry "SHOUTcast Radio" is not there, you will see an overview of the various add-ons in the center of the program. Here you will also find the "SHOUTcast Radio", which you can install using the "Add to Winamp" button.
- If you can now access the radio function, you will receive a list of all radio stations that are available via Winamp. You can now filter them by popularity or specific genres or tags. If you are looking for a specific station, you can find it using the search line above.
- If you have found a suitable station, click the play button in front of its name. The stream begins after a short loading time. Below the name you can see the bit rate in kbps. This ranges from 32 to 320. The higher the bit rate, the better the sound quality. If you listen to the radio stream via headphones, a station with a bit rate of at least 128 kbps should be set for acceptable music enjoyment.
- If a stream is not listed, you can enter its URL via "File" and "Play address".
