Minced meat substitute: tips for vegans & vegetarians
Various meat alternatives for every taste are now available in supermarkets. You can also make minced meat substitutes yourself. We show you which ingredients you need for this.
Minced meat substitute - DIY recipe
Soy products are often recommended as a meat substitute. If you don't want to use soy, you can also make a minced meat substitute with oatmeal.
- For vegetarians: Mix 100 g of oatmeal, 80 g of cheese, 100 ml of milk and an egg in a bowl. Add salt, pepper, paprika powder and a little broth. Optionally, you can also mix in a finely chopped onion.
- Vegan variant: replace the cheese with a vegan cheese alternative. Instead of milk, you can use almond or soy drink. Egg can be exchanged with a special egg replacement.
- Fry the mixture in a hot pan with a little oil for a few minutes. The vegetarian minced meat is ready as soon as it is golden brown.
- You can create various vegan or vegetarian dishes from the finished minced meat substitute. These include lasagna, spaghetti bolognese and stuffed peppers.
Soy and mushrooms as a substitute for minced meat
Sliced soybeans have long been known and popular as a replacement product. The alternative with mushrooms has so far been an insider tip. The preparation is also uncomplicated and quick.
- Boil 100 g soy schnitzel with 300 ml broth. Let the whole thing soak for about 10 minutes. You can then season the schnitzel as needed. Next, express it. Now you can fry the soy schnitzel like minced meat.
- Mushrooms are also suitable as a minced meat alternative. Chop any amount of mushrooms, e.g. B. mushrooms, small. Let them air dry for 30 minutes. Then fry the mushrooms in a hot pan. Add herbs, salt and pepper.
