If you suffer from lactose intolerance, oat milk could also be a great alternative to cow's milk for you. The oat milk - according to EU guidelines - must be correctly called an oat drink. Officially, only beverages that are of animal origin can be called milk, and this is demonstrably not the case with the oat drink.
- The oat drink consists exclusively of herbal ingredients and is therefore an integral part of the diet in many vegan households.
- In contrast to the soy drink, the rice drink or the almond milk, the oat milk tastes a bit sweet.
- However, the biggest advantage of oat milk is that it is made from local grains. The food does not have to travel long distances before it is on our store shelf. You don't even have to go to the store for the oat milk.
- You can make the oat drink yourself very easily and very quickly. Make the oat milk yourself and save yourself the hassle.
Make oat milk yourself - so it works
All you need for the oat drink is oatmeal and water. In this case, tender oatmeal is best suited.
- First boil the water and then add the oatmeal. Ultimately, it's a matter of taste, but for a liter of water, you should count about eight tablespoons of oatmeal.
- Stir the oatmeal into the water and let the mixture stand for about an hour. Occasional stirring can do no harm.
- Then put the whole thing in a blender. If you want to sweeten the oat milk a little, add a little honey, for example.
- Finally, if the oat drink is to be very fine, let the liquid run through a very fine filter.
You don't just make oatmeal from oatmeal at lightning speed, you also make a healthy breakfast porridge.
