Mobile phone lost with Google Authenticator - what to do?
If you have lost your mobile phone with the Google Authenticator app, you will no longer have access to the Google services. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Google Authenticator: log in without losing your phone
If you have your backup codes or the alternative smartphone at hand, you can easily log in again:
- Open a website like Gmail and log in with your email address and password.
- If you click on the link "You don't have your phone at hand?", You can choose the alternative smartphone to which the code will be sent.
- If you have not previously registered a second smartphone, you still have the list with the backup codes. Go back one step and enter the required backup code there.

- If the instructions above don't work, you still have the following account recovery form. Here it can take a few days before you get access again.
- If you have successfully logged in again with Google Authenticator, you should change your Google password immediately. Use the following form.
