- Switch off the device immediately. If it's already off, don't turn it back on to see if it still works.
- Open the device carefully and remove all moving parts such as the battery and the SIM card.
- Carefully dab the entire cell phone with household paper. Do not rub under any circumstances, this will damage the electronics.
- Now leave the device in a dry and warm place for a few days. This is the greatest chance that your smartphone is not subject to a defect.
- It is a little faster if you put the cell phone in rice. So that the rice only absorbs the moisture, first wrap the cell phone in household paper and then cover it with rice.

Under no circumstances should you do the following. Otherwise you risk damaging your mobile phone:
- Don't blow-dry your cell phone.
- Do not place the device on the heater.
- Do not heat your cell phone in the oven, microwave or other electrical devices.
- Do not place the device in the sun.
