Cancel HanseMerkur health insurance - how it works
There are several ways to cancel HanseMerkur health insurance. We tell you what to look out for when terminating the contract in order to terminate the contract with legal certainty.
HanseMerkur: cancel health insurance correctly
In order to terminate the insurance with HanseMerkur, you can use the special termination right in addition to the ordinary termination if your contributions have been increased.
- With ordinary termination, you can terminate the contract with three months' notice to the end of the insurance year. Check your insurance documents to see if the insurance year corresponds to the calendar year. If the insurance year ends on December 31, the cancellation must be received by HanseMerkur by September 30. If the insurance year runs until June 30, your cancellation must be received by the insurer no later than March 30. You do not have to provide a reason for termination.
- If you exercise your extraordinary right to terminate after a premium increase, you have two months' notice from receipt of the letter of adjustment from HanseMerkur. Enter the premium adjustment here as a reason for termination.
- You can reach the insurance by post at HanseMerkur Krankenversicherung aG, Siegfried-Wedells-Platz 1, 20352 Hamburg. Fax the cancellation to 040/41193257. If you choose to send by email, the right address.
Tip: Cancel health insurance more easily with a subscription alert
Alternatively, you can cancel your health insurance at HanseMerkur using the subscription alert. After completing your data and printing, you only have to send the letter.
