Hard reset on HTC Magic: how it works
If your HTC Magic is no longer working properly, a hard reset may be the only thing that can help. We tell you how to do it.
Hard reset via the settings
You can reset your HTC Magic in just a few steps using the "Settings" item. During this process, your Google account, personal data (e.g. emails, calendar entries, contacts, SMS) as well as downloaded apps and settings will be deleted.
- Open the "Settings" on your smartphone. Then select "SD card and phone storage".
- Find the "Internal phone storage" section. There, tap on "Factory data reset".
- Now select the "Reset phone" option. Finally, confirm with "Delete all".
Hard reset using the hardware buttons
Alternatively, you can reset the HTC Magic to the factory settings using the hardware buttons:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the "Home" and "Back" buttons.
- In addition, briefly press the power button once. Wait until you see the three Android logos on the screen.
- Use the trackball to select "Wipe" and then "Reboot".
