Hard reset on HTC One
If you have a serious problem with your HTC One, a hard reset may be the only solution. Your smartphone will be reset to the factory settings.
Hard reset via the settings
You can reset your HTC One in just a few steps using the "Settings" item. Your Google account, personal data (e.g. e-mails, calendar entries, contacts, SMS) as well as downloaded apps and settings will be deleted.
- Open the "Settings" item on your smartphone. Then select "Backup & Reset".
- Tap on "Reset phone" and confirm with "OK".
- If you want, you can also select the "Delete all data" option so that files such as videos, photos or music are also removed from your smartphone.
Hard reset using the hardware buttons
If your HTC One no longer starts up properly, you can also trigger a hard reset using the hardware buttons:
- Press the "QUIET" button and keep it pressed. Now press the "ON / OFF" button and keep it pressed.
- Wait for three Android logos to appear on the screen. Then release the "ON / OFF" button and then the "QUIET" button.
- Press the "QUIET" button to select the "Restore default values" item. Press the "ON / OFF" button to confirm.
