Does my notebook have Bluetooth? Here's how to find out
Numerous mobile devices can be connected to the computer via Bluetooth. But your notebook does not necessarily have this interface. We'll show you how to find out.
Device Manager: Does my notebook have Bluetooth?
If a Bluetooth adapter is installed in your computer, it is listed as hardware in the device manager.
- Press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "devmgmt.msc" there and click the "OK" button. The Device Manager now starts.
- You should now find the entry "Bluetooth" pretty high up in the list. If you select this, you will be shown at least one other entry, which is labeled "Adapter".
- If there is no entry under the Bluetooth item, click on "View" in the menu bar at the top and select the "Show hidden devices" option.
- If you still cannot find a Bluetooth adapter, your computer does not have Bluetooth.
Keyboard or case: Does my laptop have Bluetooth?
You can also find references to a built-in Bluetooth adapter on the housing or on the keyboard of your notebook. If you do not find what you are looking for, your laptop can still have Bluetooth.
- Keyboard: Most notebooks have a function key with which Bluetooth can be activated. On this you will see a small Bluetooth symbol (see picture). These are often in the row of function keys.
- Housing: Some laptops also have a switch above the keyboard or on the sides next to the USB ports, which you can use to activate the module.
