House surveillance via doorbell: Ring streams directly to the cell phone
The doorbell ring enables smart home surveillance because it streams the images directly to the cell phone. This way, when you ring the bell, you know at a glance who is at the door and whether you should open it.
Door bell with camera and live stream: Ring monitors the house
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the doorbell ring was presented, which is equipped with all kinds of monitoring technology. If you want, you can even have conversations with visitors over the Internet.
- The doorbell ring's HD camera captures everything in front of the door from a 180-degree perspective. It has built-in motion sensors and, on request, sends a notification to the cell phone when people are approaching the door.
- You can then see and hear what's going on outside the door on your smartphone. Ring also works like an intercom: you can have conversations with visitors via your mobile phone.
- The rechargeable battery should keep the device in operation for one year. The manufacturer promises to replace the door lock free of charge if it is stolen.
Further developed doorbells: Ring in new versions
In the meantime, the ring doorbell has appeared in further versions, which, for example, enable a sharper image and intelligent person recognition:
- Ring 2: The battery is equipped with a quick release for easy charging. The camera also films in 1080p, i.e. in HD quality.
- Ring Pro: The Pro version can be connected to the mains, films in 1080p (HD) and can capture people. The motion detection has also been optimized.
- Ring Elite: Instead of a battery, the Elite version gets its power via Ethernet (Power-over-Ethernet). It films in HD quality and can capture people. Motion detection also works better.
Next, we'll show you how you can also use Alexa as a doorbell.
