HDMI cable does not deliver sound - what to do?
If you have no sound with your HDMI cable, in most cases this problem can be solved quickly yourself. This practical tip shows you what you can do about it.
HDMI cable doesn't deliver sound - you can do that
If you have connected your TV and receiver via HDMI but the HDMI cable does not provide any sound, we will explain what you can do in this case:
- First, check that the cable is connected correctly and that there are no defects or broken cables.
- If it does, you should replace the cable immediately, otherwise it may cause further damage.
- However, if the cable is properly connected, the volume may have been turned off or turned down.
- Therefore turn up the volume with the respective remote control until you can hear sound again.
- You may have to select the respective sound source correctly in the settings of your TV. You can find this information in the manual.
- To check if the HDMI cable is still working, you can connect it to other devices.
- If the sound transmission works there, either a connection on the first device is defective or the cable has a loose contact.
- If you cannot hear any sound there, there is a cable break and you have to replace the defective HDMI cable.
