HDTV: RTL, Sat1, Pro7 and Kabel1 received
If you also want to receive private channels such as RTL, Pro7, Kabel1 and Sat1 in HDTV, you need both a receiver and a SmartCard. We clarify it.
HDTV: How do I receive the private channels in HD?
To receive these and many other channels in HD, you need the right devices. There are the following three combinations.
- HD receiver: The device works as a satellite receiver. The receiver is connected to your television and serves as a receiver for the signal.
- HD receivers with slots: There are also HD receivers in which not everything is integrated. Here you have to use a CI + module with a smart card. This is an adapter and an access card that allows you to receive it.
- TV with satellite tuner: Modern TVs almost all have a built-in satellite tuner. The receiver is thus already integrated in the television. You only need the CI + module (adapter) and the smart card.
How to get HD TV at home
- It is most convenient to do it all through your television provider. When concluding a new contract, you can optionally choose from each provider whether you want to rent or buy a CI + module including a smart card or an HD receiver. If you have an existing contract, you can contact customer service to advise you on your options.
- You can find the largest TV connection providers here: Kabel Deutschland, Kabel BW, Unity Media and TeleColumbus.
- Alternatively, you can also buy an HD + card with a CI + module. It costs you 65 euros and can be used for 12 months. You only have to register with HD + if you want to continue watching the programs in HD. That then costs 50 euros per year. You can buy this from Amazon, among others.
