Headset doesn't work - it could be because of it
If your headset is not working, there are various reasons. We help you to get your headset working again.
Headset does not work: device is not recognized
- The simplest and most helpful solution is to unplug the device again. To do this, also change the (USB) socket.
- Updating or reinstalling the driver can also solve the problem. To do this, insert the installation CD or search for a driver on the Internet. To do this, Google the model of your headset with the addition "Driver". You will often find it directly on the manufacturer's website.
- If the device is still not recognized, try connecting it to another computer. This way you can see whether the headset may be defective if it shouldn't work there either.
Headset does not work: check sound options
If the computer recognizes the device but the headset does not work, check the sound settings.
- To do this, open the Control Panel and select the "Sound" sub-item.
- First check whether the device is activated. If several devices are listed there, select the headset and click on "As default". Then confirm with "OK".
- Next, determine whether the volume of the device is set too low. To do this, right-click on the device and select "Properties"> "Level". Increase the input and output.
- If your headset is not in the list, right-click on "Show disabled devices". If your headset is now listed, right-click "Activate".
