Healing earth mask: overview of effects and application
Healing earth as a mask supports the body in healing numerous skin diseases. In our article we show you the effects of healing earth and its use for health and wellness.
Beneficial effects of healing earth not only as a mask
Healing earth is well tolerated. The only side effect is sometimes described as reddening of the skin, which will disappear on its own after a short time.
- Healing earth is rich in trace elements and minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium as well as iron, silica, selenium and zinc. We explain what trace elements are in another article.
- The ingredients of the healing earth have anti-inflammatory, calming and analgesic effects. A mask made from healing earth relieves itching and reduces swelling.
- Healing earth is applied wet, while it dries on the skin, it removes the bacteria and toxins from the skin. However, in addition to excess sebum, skin fat is also removed, which leads to the skin drying out.
- A mask made from healing earth also stimulates blood circulation and the metabolism of the skin.
- Good results are achieved with a mask made of healing earth, especially for blemishes and acne. But you can also use it for skin diseases such as eczema, rashes or neurodermatitis or for sunburn.
- The anti-inflammatory and itch-relieving effects of healing earth are also helpful in the treatment of hornet stings, as you can read in another article.
Healing earth mask: application for health, wellness and beauty
Healing earth is commercially available as a ready-made mask. You can also mix the mask yourself using the DIY process with simple instructions.
- Mix the healing earth yourself, mix the powder and water in a ratio of 7: 2. The mask should be easy to apply, so not too tight and not too liquid.
- If you add a little jojoba oil, you have the same mixture as the healing clay masks to be bought. The oil prevents the skin from drying out. In another post, we show another 7 great things you can do with jojoba oil.
- You only have to apply the completely mixed mask to the skin and let it dry there. You save the eye and mouth area.
- The thicker you apply the healing clay as a mask, the greater the cleaning effect. Since reddening of the skin can occur as described in the first section, you should only apply a thin layer of the mask the first time you use it.
- Once the healing earth mask has dried after about half an hour, wash it off with lukewarm water. A soft washcloth facilitates complete removal.
- In addition to the face, you can also use healing earth for blemishes on the back or décolleté. Since the skin on the décolleté is thinner and more sensitive, healing earth should also be applied thinly to prevent the skin from drying out too much.
- If your skin is very oily, you can use healing clay as a mask twice a week. If you tend to dry skin, one application per week is sufficient.
- After using healing earth, you should take care of your skin with a moisturizer. Avoid fatty creams and ointments, as these would clog the pores again.
