Home cinema: you should pay attention to this with the screen
If you are currently setting up a home cinema, we will explain what you should consider with the screen.
The screen purchase for home cinema: you should pay attention to this
If you have not yet decided on a specific type of canvas, we will explain the different types here. You should also think about the format of the canvas before buying it. The 16: 9 format is very suitable for films.
- A roller blind screen is suitable for a home cinema if you do not use the surface permanently and would otherwise disturb the screen. Be sure to buy a weighted canvas to avoid wrinkles. A little more expensive models are also available with remote control.
- You can transport a tripod canvas and stow it away in the storage room if necessary. Pay attention to stable feet and a handle.
- You stretch a tension canvas over your wall. It stays there permanently. Again, you should pay attention to a weight bar.
- A frame canvas sits firmly in its housing. You hang it on the wall like a television - a weight bar is not necessary because the canvas is firmly anchored.
- When buying, pay attention to the luminance factor, also called the gain factor. If the value is between 1.0 and 1.2, the canvas is suitable for indoor use. If you want to use the screen outdoors, choose a gain factor of at least 1.7.
- A cloth with a matt coating is advantageous. This means that you are within the recommended luminance density factor, the projected light is evenly distributed and you can still see something even if you are at a very acute angle to the screen.
Placing a screen in the home theater: you should be aware of this
The size of the room and the type of wall are important factors when you hang your screen for your home theater.
- First make sure that you keep the correct distance from the projector.
- Look often in daylight, note that the sun does not fall on the screen or you can darken the area with blinds.
- Make sure there are no striking images or strong light sources that distract from the film directly next to the screen.
